Within the city of Corpus Christi, there is evidence of economic disparity. I discovered this through my experience with the Junior Achievement (JA) program, and through data collected and observations made on my assigned school and its neighborhood, and of other JA schools in the city of Corpus Christi. All data and observations were collected to show comparisons between each JA school. The information found is valuable because it is important to know about both the physical side of a community and the economic side of a community, and how they compare to each other, as well as how they compare to other communities within a city. Junior Achievement is an organization dedicated to educating young children about branches that deal with economics,…

Comparing when the students were working on group work to their individual work, the results were polar opposites. The tasks for students was to write down what they knew about 5 sided figures.…

Observing a group was a worthwhile experience for I not only witnessed the concepts explained in the textbook, but also gained additional insight that stretches the scope of what will be covered in class. This assignment was the perfect opportunity to observe a counseling approach that I have little understanding of, in this case auditing a group that focused on intervention. Thus, I wanted to experience a group session that focused on helping individuals overcome a particular maladaptive behavior. I eventually had the opportunity to attend a sexual offender treatment group at Provident, a counseling agency that incorporates a preventative component to their groups.…
