According to Jacobs et al. (2012) seven categories of groups, the discussion group setting would pose the most challenge for me as a counselor/facilitator. I foresee this challenge based on my own strong dominate personality and persona. “Discussion group leaders primarily need to be aware of any member who tries to dominate or distract the group” (p.42). I will admit I often present a strong and powerful demeanor solely based on upbringing and career choice.
