The Delphi technique is a group decision making process that can be used by groups when members are at different locations and time is not the driving factor (Sims, 2002). The process begins by selecting specialized experts and presenting the problem to them, and they are given adequate time to prepare and propose a solution (Rao, 2010). Using the Delphi technique eliminates group domination from extrovert members and each member can independently provide solutions to the problem. The technique is designed to send questionnaires and then they are summarized. All feedback received from the group members is analyzed and sent back out until the group agrees on a satisfactory decision being made for the problem. Since the company is still able to operate with the software being used the decision is not urgent and they have three months to complete the process. The members selected to make the decision are highly skilled managers and very knowledgeable about the different software options. Since their schedules are busy, and are unable to conduct a group meeting, they will be able to use the Delphi technique to adequately provide the solution on the best software system to purchase for the company without causing any problems to the current
