Group Consensus Analysis

Decent Essays
I enjoyed reading your group consensus write-up, it seems like you have had some good experiences working in group environments. I thought it was extremely smart of you to provide the examples throughout the write-up on your past experiences. I applaud you for being the strength in your home when your husband travels to ensure the needs of the entire family are met. While there will be days of challenges, I encourage you to “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always) (1 Chronicles 16:11 New International Version). Soon enough you will come into a harvest that is overflowing because of seeds you planted Mary and your selfless ways.
I found your response to conflict resolution interesting as you addressed the personal conflict

    Sidra Zimmerman Ministry Project

The People and the Situation As was first mentioned in my ministry group project proposal, the group I chose was my own small group. When the project first started, it consisted of roughly 10 men and women, most members of my Southern Baptist church who meet weekly to suss through the week’s sermon together. Interestingly enough, most of us had been raised in some semblance of a Christian home, though our experience within that “Christian” community varied.…

The tears began to stream down his face, I immediately reply I sense you are hurting and not able to continue but when you ready we can come back to you (Reflecting Feelings). Another member speaks out Mrs. Wellonton, she speaks of a husband of 64 years of marriage, her question was she has fears of getting through each day without him, what will I do now? With a soft spoken voice reassuring her with the support of everyone, and positive goals will help each other (Supporting). The room becomes still and quiet, but the faces are loud with conversation, I ask the group would they participate in an activity, I have a pad and pen, I would like everyone to write down on the left side of the paper all the good things they remember about their spouse, and on the right side things that used to bother them about the spouse, in the next six weeks everyone will read out loud to the group what they wrote. So don’t rush through this, give it a lot of thought and daily jot down on the list (Goal Setting).…

The TedTalk was really inspiring and was a great perspective on conflict. This is definitely the first time I have ever learned about conflict being a positive instead of a negative. I liked this viewpoint because it helps encourage a more positive lifestyle and it gives proof of how conflict can be used for good. At the end of the video, the speaker mentioned how conflict is always with us even for a whole week, which is then a whole week of our lives spent worrying about this conflict. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the ways to turn conflict into something that can serve others and drive extraordinary innovations as mentioned in the video.…

Choosing the leader was one of the most important processes in this project. The leader we chose for our group was Matt Vack. The first time meeting with the group we all talked about who wanted to be the leader and who should be the leader. We chose Matt because he felt comfortable leading us as a group and was confident about it, Matt also volunteered and said that he has no problem doing this. So then Matt was the chosen leader of this group for our project.…

While reading “Using Collaboration, Co-Teaching, and Question Answer Relationships to Enhance Content Area Literacy” by Nicole Fenty, I had a chance to learn about some strategies that can be used while co-teaching with a Special Education teachers and a general education teacher. Collaboration is the key to success in a general education setting where there are students who have an IEP because the teachers need to be on the same page of what the students need to learn while Co-Teaching. It is important that each teacher shares the responsibility of teaching the students. This sharing of responsibility allows for teachers to become more knowledgeable in their subjects which, allows them to teach the areas they know the best. Being knowledgeable…

Restorative justice is something that can be applied to every aspect of life and not just the justice system. This process focuses on restoring broken relationships and healing the wounds caused by crime, or any other obstacles that life brings, by involving all parties involved in the situation (Van Ness & Strong, 2010). When all parties are involved in this process, it allows for individuals to see the full effect of the situation they are in and who all it may be impacting. This also allows for the members of the group to serve as an additional source of support for the individual or individuals. Restorative processes would be very beneficial when used in a counseling setting, especially counseling settings that focus primarily on relationships.…

The Dilemma with Measuring Sin This assignment covers a summary of three thoughts with two centered on reaching the lost with a message of Jesus Christ and another focused on the conversion experience from the works of three different authors. My effort in discovering a common theme to discuss was somewhat lost because of the direction in which each author approached sharing their information. However, in effort to complete a single cohesive flow I will discuss each situation independently and then close with a summary of all. I will however, intertwine deliberations that resonated in me why doing this assignment which on some occasions seemed to resonate across each piece of material.…

As this was our fourth group session, it was a definitely a different experience. First, our group leader led our group by asking what we wanted to discuss tonight. Even though most did not want to talk about the election, we ended up talking about the results of the election anyways, which in hindsight, I am glad we did. Not only did each of us (except 1 member) heard our thoughts/feelings about the new president and the condition of the country, but we also learned each one had strong opinions about the matter as well. With that being said, my opinion struck a chord with another member, which encouraged her to use my comment to justify her position why she was upset with the results of the election.…

Group Decision Making Sound decision making is an integral part of the overall success of any organization. While the leader of the organization has the final say in the overall decision making process, group decision making can generate a more complete solution to a problem by aggregating the resources of several individuals. This offers increased diversity of ideas and opens the door for more potential solutions to a problem to be considered, thereby leading to a greater sense of acceptance of the chosen solution by members of the organization (Robbins & Judge, 2009). While group decision making can lead to more favorable outcomes, it is not a perfect process.…
