Personal Reflection On Group Groups

Improved Essays
The team of four that I decided to work with were Abby R, Ben, and Emily T. Overall, I liked my choice of group members. We all got along pretty well with each other, and it helped that I knew Abby and Ben on a personal level. This allowed us to get together at each other’s houses, and work together on the project. This allowed for a much easier collaborative environment, and it also allowed us to collaborate on everything together, instead of one person being assigned one part, and the other person another. I feel like this was a much easier way of creating the presentation, rather than having everybody independent of each other. When a group works like that, the ideas can’t be spread around as well, and you’re left with a narrow point of …show more content…
Our film had a clear and interesting purpose, it flowed pretty easily and was easy to understand. There were parts where it could have been confusing but overall was good. The information that we found was accurate, and the primary and secondary sources were cited in our credit role. I feel like the information that we used from our interviews was strong. They helped relay the essential questions that we were asking the audience, and provided evidence to support those questions. I feel like our visual variety and pacing was okay. We could’ve done more with music, videos, and images, but overall it was pretty good. There weren’t any moments where someone was talking for too long and the pictures that we displayed transitioned at a good speed. We also could’ve done more with effects and not make it distracting. There were a couple instances where our narration was bad, but for the most part, I thought we did pretty good in that aspect. We could have tried to eliminate background noise when making the project, but almost all of our applicants were audible and understood properly. I thought our conclusion was the strongest part of the presentation. I feel like it ended very well, and left the audience thinking a little bit. Our credit role had all of the correct components to it. Finally, our presentation didn’t have any spelling or grammatical errors, and the creativity of the project was pretty good. I would say it wasn’t the best, but it was decent. We could’ve been a little more creative, but I don’t think it was bland at all. All in all, I thought this was a pretty good presentation. We had a lot of strong points, and a couple weaknesses, those being our conclusion, interviews, and narrations being strong within the documentary, and our downfalls being a little difficult to follow at times, background noise, and a little lack of creativity. If we do another documentary

The first video of the documentary is “Our Plan” which takes place in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. It starts with the beginning and discovery of oil, also called petroleum back in those times. The tone was very reflective for me due to all the information that the video supplied the viewers with. It goes into detail about how the industry started and what came about it once everyone realized how valuable oil really was. There was so much that I really took in and really enjoyed learning about.…

This totally made sense to me because without knowing a person’s language or how to speak with them you feel distant from them. If you know their language you can know something about their culture and history. The only thing that I noticed that would help the presentation was the slideshow. There were a lot of spacing and grammatical errors. This is understandable because translating is difficult and English is her second language but someone should have proof read the…

I recently attended a group observation at Project Point of Light in Shippenville, Pennsylvania. The overall experience was a positive one. It was very interesting to talk to the members and hear their sides of the story. They truly are just human beings and I believe that meeting with them and having an opportunity to talk to them has somewhat changed my view of sex offenders overall. Though I am still confused by their behaviors, which is somewhat difficult to overcome, but I am more understanding of who they are because they are only human and they know they have made a mistake.…

When the video talked about how children were sent away to boarding school because their parents did not know how to handle them or communicate with them, it broke my heart. These children did not have regular communication with their families so they seemed to rely on the other children for love and support. Hearing the interviewees talk about their schooling adventure was pretty cool because they all had similar experiences. However, their experiences were not the best. Many of the people interviewed said that their deafness was treated as a handicap that…

This class has served to enlighten and increase my understanding of the distinctions between Pastoral Care, Counseling and Crisis. Before taking this class, I lumped these categories all together as pastoral care. As such, my reactions towards what I deemed pastoral care was very negative in that I felt ill-equipped and was way too intimidated to handle what potentially seemed to be a day to day pastoral care overload. The first eye opener came when I read about the distinctions between pastoral care and pastoral counseling.…

This film was organized well and definitely showed evidence of Guldbrandsen’s argument. Whether it was interviewing the Vice President of Zambia, workers at Mopani, or government officials, he received enough data to justify his explanation on why Zambia is financially unstable. A minor flaw I noticed in the documentary was Guldbrandsen not being persistent enough with the people he wanted to interview but turned him down or didn’t respond to him at all. I feel like he should’ve sneakily found a way to record them and then include that evidence in this film. Besides that small weakness, I thought this documentary was exceedingly informative and the data he acquired was used effectively.…

We have 5 members in our group of whom 2 were male, and 3 were female. After we were assigned the project, we all came together, and made a commitment to do it better, and succeed at it. Firstly, we welcomed ideas from everyone, without setting any criteria. Our project was to reinvent any product with more features that will be helpful for public. It was a very challenging project because we were to redesign a particular product, which should be more appealing to the costumers in terms of features, solution of particular problems, availability, and cost.…
