When I first heard of the event, I actually thought it was about a man who captured sharks, and would place them in tanks for marine viewing purposes. Within the city of Corpus Christi, there is evidence of economic disparity. I discovered this through my experience with the Junior Achievement (JA) program, and through data collected and observations made on my assigned school and its neighborhood, and of other JA schools in the city of Corpus Christi. All data and observations were collected to show comparisons between each JA school. The information found is valuable because it is important to know about both the physical side of a community and the economic side of a community, and how they compare to each other, as well as how they compare to other communities within a city. Junior Achievement is an organization dedicated to educating young children about branches that deal with economics,…

For several months, I have had my observation of the radiologic technology at Park Avenue Radiologist. Everything I know about this technology is basic and general – an imaging diagnosis of individual’s health issues. Specifically, the radiological technology is used to produce medical images commonly referred to as X-rays of internal body structures and organs such as lungs. For the image to be produced a tightly controlled amount of radiation is passed through the body and the results captured by a device.…

In all of my time of attending Homedale Middle School, I have witnessed many groups of students more increasingly each year. I supposed that each year I become more aware and observant of the life around me--specifically, others’ lives. Some cliques I see only outside, playing football or staying far out into the fields. But others I see every day, chatting in class, eating together at lunch, or even rough-housing in the hallways between periods, which causes chaos for everyone else and blocks our path to class. Even though this is the case, it is easier to identify certain types of groups at lunch.…

RJ Mischo & Zach Bramhill at Biscuits and Blues Hidden in the crowded area of Mason Street San Francisco was what seemed to be a average little room covered in vinyl records and art work know as Biscuits and Blues. As soon as I walked in to the almost silent room, I was greeted by a younger gentlemen asking me if I had ever been to a Blues show before to which I replied “No”, his smiled widened when he responded with “then you are in for a treat”. I paid my $20 admission, with those prices I knew I truly was in for a “treat”, as I walked downstairs the atmosphere instantly became dimmer and the music made its debut in full force. The waiter immediately leads me to a table and as I trail behind her I notice the entire room is dim except for the stage light that illuminate the entire area. As soon as I sit down there is a transition of the lights, they turn from a bright yellow to a calm blue signaling the change between a previously upbeat song to a more relaxed one.…

Everyone hates English class is what I thought before taking English 102. However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. English 102 this year has had its ups and downs, and I must admit the ups outweigh the downs. Meaning, this year, I have learned that I am not a student who wants to read or write, but through reading and writing my mind and skill sets concerning English have grown. During English 102 this year, reading and writing in class helped me expand my writing skills, improved my will to comprehend, and most importantly helped expand my knowledge.…
