To have grit, you have to have passion and the ability to strive for a long term goal, maybe one that is very challenging. As it stated In the TEDTalk, "The key to success? Grit” Angela Lee Duckworth explains that “Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day in and day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years; and working really hard to make that future a reality. Grit is living life like it's a marathon, not a sprint." This quote means that grit needs to be earned and needs to be used properly. In conclusion, grit to me means the strive and interests in something. The topic grit can be connected to my personal life in many cases. One thing I can relate to was learning a bike trick. I embraced grit and followed my passion for bikes. I knew I would fail and I knew that I might not even end up doing the trick. Even after trying for weeks on end, I didn’t give up. In fact, I tried harder and harder, putting my mind to it, and attempting to conquer it. Eventually, I was months in, and one day I gave it my all. In the movie “Mighty Ducks”, the main character Charly, makes a huge effort and really shows a high efficiency of grit. Even though there is a positive outcome, the start of the movie sums up that Charly and his team are a disaster. Charly knows this and wants to make a change. So every day after his team practice, Charly will practice on the ice by himself and pushes harder and harder each day. Even though he does not see an immediate change, he knows that if he practices more, he will soon be good at his passion; hockey.
