In the article, “The Significance of Grit” by Deborah Perkins-Gough has “a conversation with Angela Lee Duckworth” (14) about how Duckworth “has been conducting groundbreaking studies on grit- the quality that enables individuals to work hard and stick to their long-term passions and goals” (14). Without the dedication and hard work for education, it is not possible to achieve goals and success. Focusing on schoolwork and practicing a lot will help becoming a knowledgeable student, which will also result in achieving good grades on exams and etc. Next Duckworth estimates that “people who can set long-term goals and stick to them have a leg up on success in school and life” (14). For example in the article “How the Karate Kid Ruined the Modern World,” by David Wong gives a statistics “according to research by Gladwell.com, it takes about 10,000 hours to become an expert/Master at something” (114). This research shows how much time and effort should go into education or other parts of your life in order to overcome the challenges to complete goals and become an expert at it both at the same time.

My personal experiences that related to the concept of Grit, because I had never lost hope when it came to facing challenges and overcoming barriers. Never lost hope when I was struggling to learn English also never gave up when moved schools that had two different levels of educations.
