Whether they have a 150 question test based strictly over brain physiology or taking the ACT for the tenth time, students with grit have a mental advantage over those who do not have grit. Tough barriers and obstacles in the face of a driven person are nothing to squirm about. They simply figure out a solution and fix the problem at hand. The object of their minds is to make their dreams and goals come true in the most efficient and beneficial way possible. There is no obstacle too large for them and they will do anything it takes to do whatever their dream may be. A senior that will graduate high school in 8 months that wants to play college soccer would work as hard as possible to nail down ball control, physical endurance, and mental endurance so he could make the college team and play to his heart’s content. That would only happen if this high school senior had grit. If no grit was present in the subject’s mind, they would blow off the situation as if it were nothing to even flinch about. They would not put the effort it takes to make a competitive college soccer team. A gritty person’s goals are seen to them as a necessary thing to achieve; almost as if it is necessary to live. A person who wants to achieve a goal so bad that it becomes a biological need to have it will have a better chance at obtaining that goal more than a person who sees it as something unimportant and unnecessary. Gritty and non-gritty people have a difference between them that is rather easy to point out. A gritty person sees their goals as a need while a non-gritty person sees their goal as something that will eventually happen on its own or not that big of a deal if acquired or
