After Martin read his speech aloud, he got more involved and started to take marches of freedom. On March 25, 1965, Martin led thousands of people from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama. This was Martin’s first march that led to many other supporters. Although these marches may’ve most likely been violent and scary, Martin stood up for what he believed in and sacrificed his own body.
