Merriam Webster defines grief as a deep and poignant distress caused by or as if by bereavement. Every person handles grief differently. In our world we all have experienced one of the types of grief from normal to absent, unauthorized, inhibited, delayed, anticipatory, collective, exaggerated or chronic grief. In the book Between Shades of Gray, almost every single character experiences grief sometime in the book. Each displaying a different form of grief. Ona displayed exaggerated grief, exaggerated grief is when overtime grief gets worse and worse, to the point where you become a danger to others and yourself.
