In season eight of Greys Anatomy, Arizona Robbins was forced to amputate her leg after nearly losing her life in a plane crash. Viewers were not only able to see the full amputation, but the aftermath as well. Throughout the show, viewers were able to see the character with a prosthetic leg. If the special effect were not present, the show would not make sense. The events would not correlate with the story line of the television series. Even after 12 years of Greys Anatomy airing on television, viewers continue to become more and more invested in the series. Although the series does not accurately portray the real life of doctors and interns, people enjoy the show most because everyone in the cast is so diverse. The inaccurate portrayal often goes unnoticed. The show also gives ordinary people the chance to connect with a character. Many people can make a connection through the life experiences each cast member has gone through. Compared to any other television series, Greys Anatomy offers more than just a story people can watch. This series gives its audience the chance to live out their dreams through seeing the tremendous graphic effects. Greys Anatomy helps viewers escape their realities and places them into certain situations they could have never imagined
