In Netflix’s romance/drama series Greys Anatomy (2005) Ellen Pompeo plays the role of Meredith Grey. Meredith Grey is a young new medical school graduate on her way to being a surgeon. Throughout the 305 episodes thus far, Meredith has made many dramatic changes. Meredith undergoes many mental changes but also some physical. Meredith’s mental demeanor changes when she becomes an actual surgeon. After starting her internship Meredith becomes determined, tenacious, and focused. She also makes a subtle change when she becomes a mother. For the first time, Meredith is loving, playful, and excited about something besides becoming a surgeon. Her physical change is very little but, instead of wearing cocktail dresses like you see in the first episode …show more content…
Meredith doesn’t go looking or trying to have children when her first soon to be daughter Zola is first seen. In season 8, Zola makes her first appearance when she is admitted to the hospital for a spinal deformity. Derek and Meredith fall in love with Zola the first time they meet her. After a few complications Derek and Meredith adopt Zola and for the first time you see Meredith love something more than surgery; she loved being a mother. Later on, throughout the series you will find that Meredith gives birth to two more beautiful children; Ellis and Derek. Meredith raises all of her children on her own after Derek dies in Season 12. Meredith’s normal attire changes when she becomes a mother for a few reasons. First, she starts to wear jeans and comfortable shoes. Before Meredith becomes a mother if she wasn’t in scrubs you could find her easily in dresses or dress pants. Meredith also started to wear lighter and brighter colors when she became a mom. The difference in colors showed a happier and more approachable look. For the first time when Meredith became a mom we seen a loving and compassionate side never really seen before. She smiled, made herself more approachable, and more loving. Meredith used to only care and think about surgery but when her children came in the picture all of that changed. Instead of Meredith only focusing on work and working long hard hours she took breaks from work and went to the day care to visit her kids and made sure she was at home at night to tuck them in. Meredith especially stepped up to be a mother after her husband Derek suddenly passed away. Her wardrobe changing to fit her motherly life style was just the tip of everything that motherhood changed for Meredith I believe Meredith having kids made her more approachable, more nurturing and overall a better
