My name is Grendel and I live by the forest on a lake. My environment is very silent and lonely I hide there in my misery crying and sobbing in the darkness. In my life the only comfort I have is my mother who is also a different creature from the humans just like me. We are always feared by humans, get attacked, and yelled at wherever they see us . The reason why I kill humans is because it bothers and disturbs me when they party/celebrate and drink in the mead halls they are so loud. If it was up to me i would never hurt the humans but they attack and hurt me so much i have to attack back to defend myself. it is the only choice i have but my intention is not to hurt them or hurt king Hrothgar. They don’t understand that all the noise they make at 2am when they have their celebrations bother me so i have to go to the mead halls every time they celebrate and try to get them to quiet down.

As soon as i walk through the door they attack me without even giving me a slight second to say why i’m their.
