Grendel Epic Vs Beowulf

Many differences can be found between the film Beowulf and Grendel and the original epic. These differences range from adding multiple characters to getting more in depth about the origins of Grendel. They even go as far as making the great, godlike Beowulf merciful. This compassionate character comes about as the film progresses, but we see no change whatsoever in the Beowulf of the epic. This huge change in the protagonist reveals that our modern culture has altered greatly from the culture of the epic.
