Gregor The Overlander Book Report

Gregor the overlander by Suzanne Collins takes fantasy to a new level. 11-year-old Gregor lives in apartment in New York. Gregor has an unexpected trip to the underland when he falls through the grates of his laundry room with his two-year-old sister Boots. To the giant rats, cockroaches, and bats here it's a game of survival. As Gregor and Boots are taken into the palace, held as prisoners but in a friendly manner, they meet underlanders. Such as humans, Luxa the soon-to-be queen, her cousins, Henry and Nerissa finally, Vikus and Solovet her grandparents. Luxa and her family rule the throne and protect the city of Regalia. When they went back to Regalia, Vikus had shown Gregor a keychain that Gregor had made for his dad at camp. Gregor now knew that his dad had been killed or captured by rats. From there, Gregor was taken to a cave which had that Prophecy of Gray carved on the walls. It explained that Gregor was a warrior. As the rest of Regalia was at war with the rats, Gregor was on his quest. Once everyone is persuaded that Gregor is the warrior, they're off to the crawlers home. They get their eat dinner and go to sleep. There they meet Temp and Tick , two crawlers (cockroaches) that worship boots as their princess. Overnight, Gregor woke up to see all the crawlers circling around boots known as the ring dance. When they all woke in the morning, the roaches announced that Temp and Tick would be joining their quest. They flew through a tunnel for a while, until they came across five rats. Gregor ran off through the tunnel with boots on his back and some roaches help him across. As Gregor was running down the tunnel, he ran into a spider web. Luxa didn't make it out safely, but Gregor saved her by spraying root beer in the spinner's face. Everyone was out safely, when Vikus had told Gregor that he was to finish his quest alone with a guide, due to the Prophecy of Gray. His guide shocked Gregor. He was Ripred one of rats Vikus fought off. The others Vikus and Solovet leave. The rest of them eat breakfast and leave to a small tunnel. After a while, they take a break and rest. Everyone is asleep, but then Gregor wakes up to see Henry stab Ripred. Ripred claws back with no energy. By the time Gregor broke up the fight, him and Luxa were patching the two up. Once the two were healed, they headed out the tunnel. There, 20 rats attacked them, Tick sacrifices himself for boots and they headed for safety. Shortly after that, they find Gregor's dad, weak and stranded. Then, Henry traps everyone leaving them surrounded by rats. Henry is a spy! Quickly Gregor runs and jumps over a canyon, Henry following. Henry's bat, Ares, saves Gregor, not Henry. They get in a tunnel and head back to
