ccording to previous decision making of entry choices, this section highlights Greggs in the future market selection propensities in order to bring out more clearly the true effects on an MNE’s establishment choice and through more rational approaches to evaluating global opportunities. Therefore, following CAGE distance framework (Ghemawat 2011) and examines the extent to which four measures of distance based on the CAGE framework for country level analysis. Using country portfolio analysis (CPA) to observe these countries’ actual and potential bread markets, with a measure of per capita income on x-axis and per capital bakery product consumption on the y-axis. The size of country bubbles represents the total consumption of the bread product. The size of the bubble represents the total size of the market in terms of GDP or the absolute consumption. The bubbles provide an approximate estimate of how large the relative revenue opportunities are. This CPA map (Figure 1) compares a number of European markets for bakery products.
To sum up, the CAGE distance framework is intended to help Greggs to do the decision-making. Consideration of different distance dimensions, Greggs seems to opt to set up a new business in Ireland. However, being recognized as great elements does not mean that these factors have distinctly forecast Greggs foreign business; instead, it should also take HR planning into consider.
