Greg Louganis 'Breaking The Surface'

Greg Louganis, one of the best divers of all time, wrote a book in 1995 called “Breaking the Surface” in which he publicly comes out as a gay male with HIV. In his documentary Back on Board he describe his abusive relationship with his manager who gave him the virus. Greg describes him and Tom’s relationship in the beginning as perfect until a year later they were dating but things still was not official so he continued to see other men. Tom was upset when he found out about this and forced Greg to call up all five guys and apologize to them. He was forced to tell them that he has been in a relationship the whole time, he was lying to them, and that he would not be seeing them anymore. Shortly after Greg completed all five phone calls, Tom became enraged and ran to the kitchen to grab and knife and held it to Greg’s throat as he raped him. The next day Tom did not say a word to Greg no apologies, no discussions, not one word. It was not until five years later that Greg told anyone about this experience.
