The purpose of this lab is to see how the Greenhouse Effect works. To understand how this phenomenon works, we placed two bottles near a heat lamp - one with air and the other one filled with carbon dioxide. The bottle with the air started out at 24 ℃, while the one with carbon dioxide started out at 28 ℃. As soon as we placed the two bottles by the heat lamp, we noticed that the temperature of each bottle increased rapidly. However, the temperature increased more in the bottle with the carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide helped increase the greenhouse effect, which caused the temperature to change more than the bottle with the air. According to the data, the more carbon dioxide there is, the more the greenhouse effect occurs.
