My personal ideologies correlates best with Canada’s Green Party due to a similar foundation of trust in citizens, powerful advocacy for Canada’s hushed and underlying issues in which the Green Party vocalizes on a prominent platform. To begin, my ideology consists of strong social liberties in which the LGBTQ community is no longer a minority group and coloured people aren’t labelled under the stamp of black, hispanic or yellow. I believe the relationship between the government and its people must be transparent to ensure not only an efficient society, but a successful community where everyone is dignified. A strong economy is nothing when their citizens are devalued through unfair treatment resulting to a lack of national pride and joy in a superficial monetary success. We must place all citizens on a pedestal, they are the working gears of everything in society meaning the government must respect them. Furthermore, respect for diversity in one of the Green Party’s moral values. They express concern for individual wellness, support the development of minority’s lifestyles and cultures, encourage diverse inclusion such as their Young Greens Council. This council is aimed at 14-29 year olds to participate in government matters such as eliminating student debt. In the grand scheme, the Green Party is funding a future generation where individuals are not solely tolerant, but understanding and respectful of different culture through this inclusion. Their willingness to trust citizens creates an admirable relationship within unions. Examples include a police’s right to arrest without a warrant, and arrest due to the encouragement of terrorism as a criminal offense. These guidelines stating “encouragement” or “promotion” are incredibly vague leading up for interpretation where citizens are consequently set up to fail. The boundary between what is newly legal or illegal is solely a blurred line which presents authority figures with even more authority. This excess power is taken from the citizens meaning the people are no longer free and easier to have their rights abused. Personally, I can see the aim of this Bill, but the Green Party makes an exceptional point where government is creating more secrecy and distrust within a nation. They are recognizing the unecessary volumes of power as a recipe for corruption, this political party is hungry for a prosperous future, not power.
