“We are like chameleons, we take our hue and the color of our moral character, from those who are around us.” People and cultures throughout time have been influenced by all kinds of things such as friends, family, their environment, and sometimes even gods. Greek gods and mythology have not only impacted the Greeks, but has continued to impact society throughout time; including nations such as Rome, Egypt, and America.

Among plenty of other things, the Romans have adopted art/ architecture, warfare, and religion from the Greeks. Greek and Roman architectures are similar, and sometimes people have a hard time distinguishing one from the other. Hippocrates, the Greek physician mentioned earlier, used activated charcoal (which is better known as carbon) has been called black magic because of its color and many health benefits. It can reduce ulcers and can remove nasty parasites and bacteria from the body. Greek philosophers, Aristotle and Plato found out that the human body had no use in the afterlife. This new discovery spread and influenced Greek doctors, who at Alexandria (Egypt) starting dissecting and studying deceased bodies. Through these new explorations, surgeons came to the conclusion that it was not the heart that controlled the movement of limbs, but the brain. The Greeks found out about the insides of the human body from Aristotle and Plato’s writings.
In Egyptian art, the term "Fayum (or Faiyum) Mummy Portraits" refers to a number of paintings from places across Egypt, dating back to Hellenistic Greek painting of the first century BC. The Fayums represent some of the original Greek art that has survived though plenty years. Some rare works, such as Greek vases, the Etruscan tomb paintings, have also been found. Speaking of tombs, Herodotus, the Greek historian, wrote that 100,000 workers over 20 years built the Great Pyramid. The Greeks named the Egyptian pyramids one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
