Myths are also a way to persuade children to establish qualities that follow them through their whole life. As you mention, the moral of the Santa Clause is that if a child behaves good they will be rewarded for it. This teaching becomes an essential lesson that people keep with them through adulthood. As adults, it is fully understand that in order to obtain what you want in life you must work hard for it, it becomes second nature. This idea is a similar idea to karma, that what you do reflects the things that you will receive.
Not only do parents pass on myths to their children to teach them valuable things from unique stories but also schools do too. In high school, it is most likely a requirement to read popular ancient Greek myths since
