As people began to advanced in modern ideologies, they also look into their past as they live in a world where they are generally influence from our ancestor’s society. One of these influences is Greek culture that have been affecting our natural way of life. Greeks have create ideal concept that could not been imagine with the technology they had in their time. An example would be that they helped create the foundation of democracy, which the United States uses today. This political system started out in Athens, where government was ruled under a monarchy, then grew into an oligarchy, which is run by a small group of people such as politicians, until this group grew in vast numbers to form the political system similar to ours. A myth “is a story which is not ‘true’ and which involves (as a rule) supernatural beings or at any rate supra human beings. Myths are concerned with creation. They embody feeling and concept and are often explanations of the natural order and cosmic forces” (Cuddon 526). Many of these myths include moral stories and shaped humanistic values of what and what not to do. The ancient Greece Empire was located around the Mediterranean Sea and touches parts of what was called minor Asia (Howstuffwork 2014). During these times, they believed that the ancient gods were part of their everyday lives. Supposedly, the gods ruled over all aspects of life, such as domestic life, the production of resources, wars , and social life such as love and fortune. These people made sacrifices to these gods in order to “please” them and many died fighting for the gods, which no one actually saw because they live in the summit of Mount Olympus. Greek mythology was more of a religion than to just being stories to these people, which also formed and shaped the political nature of ancient Greece as well. The time of when Greek mythology began is not confirmed but to be estimated around eight hundred BC from the accounts of earlier pots and artifacts that showed images of the gods.
