1. I believe that the differences in cultures is shrinking and cultures are becoming similar. With the level of media that is available throughout the world, different cultures are now more recognized and followed. Also, the same products are now available throughout the world and this doesn't allow any certain cultures to have their own products or styles to be known by themselves.
2. I believe that there are still some differences in cultures that need to be marketed differently. If you go to a McDonald's in some foreign countries, they have different menu items than what we are accustomed to in the U.S.. So, there is still adjustments that need to be made for different cultures. If the countries want these parts of other cultures to be brought it to their culture, than that is their decision, but if they don't then an effort should be made to keep their culture a fixture in their region.

I would use a multinational strategy to market Italy. They have strong cultural ties and I believe that those should be left to change at the Italian's discretion. Italy's rich cultural ties are from fashion, wine, architecture, automobiles, art and cuisine and these wouldn't be something I would want to alter. Italy's GDP per capita has steadily increased over the last few years after taking a huge dive during the recession. Also, their trade activity is maintaining a respectable level, despite their high unemployment rate in southern Italy. Furthermore, stronger members of the EU are helping to keep Italy afloat.
4. I would use a focus strategy to move into my market in Italy. I believe this is the best option because Italians would except the low quality goods that a low-cost strategy might produce. Also, I believe that Italy's market can be penetrated if you find the right product and get the correct price point for each region of
