Greek Cake History

I enjoy baking cakes, I consider my self to be a baker, so I chose to do my project on ancient Egyptian. The history of cakes go far back to ancient times, the Egyptians were the first culture to show evidence of advance baking, but the first cakes back in those days were more bread like sweated with honey with nuts and dried fruit added. I as a baker would redo Egyptian cake using a modern cake style, because the ancient Egyptians times are one of the coolest. So my cake would be based off the clothing they wore how they lives there lives and the jewelry they had. Egyptian clothing was filled with a variety of colors. Adorned with precious gems and jewels, their fashions were made for not only beauty but also comfort so I would make a cake that was the shape of a pyramid it would have four sides each side of the cake would have a three dimensional shape of an ancient Egyptian theme. …show more content…
Everything on my cake would be eatable. I would also have elaborate pieces of colorful jewelry made from fondant sprayed with gold and silver edible paint, I would make the gems and stones from candy that would be shaved and polished to make them appear as if there real pieces of stones and gems. I would make three dimensional shapes out of fondant of the pharos head on the left side of the pyramid. It would be spray-painted a shiny gold color the face of the pharos head would be carefully detailed. The eyes would be trimmed in with a black liquorish with gum ball drops balls for the eyes, the had would be trimmed with stripes of shiny blue and gold fondant that has been steamed. On the right side of the pyramid, I would incorporate a pharos coffin shaped in a three dimensional shapes made out of rice crispy covered in fondant sprayed in a shiny bronzed color with designs of red and dark blue
