Even though the ground level seems to be rather approachable by the public, there is actually couple stones layered on top of each other to form the base of this structure, hence the elevation. Consequently, it suggests that the purpose of this structure may very much be religious, as elevated architecture usually embodies people’s desire to be uplifted to be closer to the heavens and the gods. On top of that, the elevation creates a physical boundary between the monument’s ground and the ground level of the site, segregating the ordinary from the sacredness, again, reinforcing the religious purpose of this architecture. As mentioned before, elevation of this building is created to serve as a subtle barrier that visitors may subconsciously be aware of but not directly be reckoned with.
