Classical Greek architecture is an iconic part of Greek history. As Greece developed, so too did the architecture. The architecture became symbolic of the rise and success of Greek Society. All of western civilization can trace its origins to that of Greece. Thus, modern neoclassicism continued to be a symbol of western society and its drive to attain the ideal. Greece forever impacted culture by discovering that architecture is a reflection of the success and advancements within a society.
The success of Greek society is reflected in its architecture, which was heavily influenced by ancient Egypt. They would be later known as The Masons. The Masons would build structures still standing today in Greece such as The Erechtheum and The Parthenon (school.eb.com). The Masons would also be the creators of the architectural orders. These orders would be the foundation for all of Greek Temples and most Greek Structures (school.eb.com). The first of these orders was the Doric order. It was simplistic and practical with only a fluted shaft for decoration. As society evolved and progressed, Greek architecture evolved along with it. Overtime the Doric Order would influence the Ionic and Corinthian Orders. These orders were defined by refining the Doric order with more intricate and detailed designs. These advancements were celebrated by the Greeks as their society advanced. These orders heavily influenced architecture during the Archaic period (750 BCE-500 BCE)
