History is the recording of past events in time. The record keeping of our past is the reason we have what we have today; everything from government and military ideas all the way down to tradition and religion. If it was not for people keeping a record of everything that happened, whether it be good or bad, it is what helped shape the human race and evolve us into what we have become today. Although every group of people has their own structure and belief systems, the reason behind why they are there are because of the trial and error of past generations. The Greeks were the first to come up with the idea of a democracy. A democracy is the the idea that the government is ran by the people. Officials are voted on and elected by the people and once elected then that person is classified, by the people of that state or country, fit to make decisions for the entirety of the group. Although democracy in Greece would only last for about two hundred years little did they know it would eventually run counties. While the idea was in the air it was not necessarily liked by the politicians at that time, those such as Julius Caesar. Though he was a great leader he wanted complete control of rome and with a democratic government that was not possible; therefore, we can see that coming from a day and age such as the powerful Julius Caesar and the other politicians, before and after him, losing that substantial power is not beneficial for the wealthy, but plays a substantial role in the in the eyes of a peasant. “There was Florus epitome, based chiefly on Livy, and collections of speeches from the Greek and Latin historians, addressed to popular audiences as well as to statesmen and generals. The Greek, Roman, Chinese, Indian, Islamic and American civilizations, although some had more achievements than others they all equal out to the same importance. If it was not for the hundreds of years spent researching with many more failed attempts than successes government, architecture, arts, military and religion would not be as thought out and perfected as it is today. Due to the recordings of their mistakes people are able to learn and step away from the problems that they have already faced, making it easier to come to an answer that will only better the research and ideas of new
