Greed is something that affects us all. It can change a person completely weather it’s for the good or the bad. In A Christmas Carol, Scrooge was a greedy, rich, and lonely man. When 3 ghosts visited him, they presented Scrooge’s past, present and future. Scrooge realized that he needed to change in order for a better future. In It’s A Wonderful Life, George Bailey and his bank lost $8,000. George started to only care about the money and took his family and friends for granted. His guardian angel then showed George what life would be like if George had never been born. George saw that if he wasn’t around everything would be different. Scrooge has changed drastically throughout A Christmas Carol. First, when the ghost of Christmas past visited Scrooge, the spirit showed scrooge how lonely he was as a child. He was also saw Bell who he was going to marry but then they split because Scrooge was too involved in his work and did not spend enough time with Bell. He saw how happy he was until he started worrying about money. Second, the ghost of christmas present brought Scrooge to see the Cratchit family. He saw how thankful they were even though they had little. Tiny Tim was the youngest of the children who was crippled. Scrooge asked the ghost if Tim would live. The ghost replied “If these shadows remain unaltered by the future, the child will die.” This influenced Scrooge a

First, George’s uncle Billy was going to make an $8000 deposit at the bank but then accidentally put the envelope into a man named Mr. Potter who doesn’t give it back. When George hears about this, he freaks out over the possibility of bankruptcy and a prison term. George arrives at his house and yells at his wife Mary and his children. He calls Mrs. Welch who his daughter’s teacher and yells at her. He then goes to a bar and gets drunk. George is considering suicide after being socked by Mrs Welch’s husband at the bar. George was about to jump off a bridge when someone jumps in before him. George jumps in to save him and later learns that the man’s name is Clarence and he is George’s guardian angel. Second, when George said he wishes he had never been born, Clarence grants his wish. George then sees how life would be without him. The whole town is different. The town was named Pottersville after Mr. Potter. His wife Mary is unmarried and is a librarian. Third, when George goes back home he gives his whole family hugs and makes sure they know how thankful he is for them. Mary invited many people over who all gave money to George to help him out with the bank. This evidence shows that even though George and his bank lost $8000, it all ended up okay.
