In Beauty and the Beast, it says, “ ‘Right, sister,’ answered the other, therefore we must show as much kindness as possible…”(Beaumont) and after they showed her a non-contentious attitude towards her, it made Beauty stay longer. As a result, it created problems for the Beast since she stayed longer but there is some situational irony at the end that completely changes everything. Another quote from Rumpelstiltskin says, “ ‘What will you give me’, said the little man, ‘the little child you may have when you are queen’, ‘That may never be,’”(Grimm brothers). To sum it up, she let him get to her while she could have gave him something completely different to satisfy his vapid life. Psyche and Cupid has another quote that says, “The inhabitants of this valley say that your husband is a terrible and monstrous serpent...Take our advice. Provide yourself with a sharp knife”(Benson). Consequently, she took her sister’s advice and the demonstrative feelings that Cupid had for her were gone due to the mistake of listening to her sister’s. In Beauty and The Beast, one main archetype shown is the sister’s as, “The Shadow”. A quote to show this is, “They(sisters) went down to the garden to vent it in tears;... in what way is the little creature better than us,..”(Beaumont) and they planned something sinister to get Beauty in some real trouble. Even though this is one of those stereotypical characters that help make the stories more popular, the theme is very important since it can teach an very important life lesson. An quote from Rumpelstiltskin says, “Now this king was very fond of money, and when he heard the miller’s boast his greediness was raised,..”(Grimm Brothers). This quote shows an important theme about boasting can cause people to believe things that are not really true and can teach a very important lesson while the archetype describes what the type of character is in the story. A story with different archetypes are very important but a story without themes that can have valuable points to them is really nothing at
