The great recession can be considered the largest devastation in economic history after the great depression of the late 1920’s and early 1930’s. The great recession was a time period taking place in the late 2000’s, officially lasting from December 2007 to June 2009. The economic decline devastated many leaving many out of job and sending unemployment rates through the roof. “As a major casualty of the Great Recession, employment suffered. Several Scientist conducted careful research and, data was listed in order to show the cause and effect of economic status, between 2007 and 2009. A basic discussion, and a conclusion were created based on researched through the careful use of several articles. Two macroeconomic topics are discussed which both took major effect on many. Females in fact did better than males. Education was also seen to play a major role in unemployment. It was hypothesized that a higher degree would lead to a lower unemployment rate percentage, this was found to be true. The unemployment rate varied with the levels of education. The higher the level of education, the lower the unemployment rate. A degree of higher education and unemployment had a “negative association.” “ The study confirmed the hypotheses that, other things being equal, the higher the level of education, the lower the employment rate.” (Int. Journal of B.) Ethnicity was also seen as a variable in the unemployment percentage of the 2000’s. Four different ethnic back rounds were studied in order to show differences between groups. The table below shows a list of data containing “significance of the difference of unemployment rates between racial groups.” (Int. Journal of B.)
“ Ho: There is no difference in unemployment among the four racial/ethnic groups.
H1: There is difference in unemployment among the four racial/ethnic groups.
H0: μ1= μ2= μ3= μ4 (means are equal)
