Great Gatsby Green Light Analysis

Everything has a meaning or at least a purpose that helps everyone work toward a goal. Like in the novel The Great Gatsby, a green light on Daisy’s dock that Gatsby always gazes upon is a great meaning to him and most of the characters in the book. It symbolizes an unattainable dream or like a hazy future that one must work toward to gain that goal. F. Scott Fitzgerald places the green light there to bring hope not just for him but for others who also read the book that what to reach a goal. The green light can be looked at in many ways but to Gatsby it means money and envy. Nothing compares to what I have gone through but I know I can overcome anything and finish everything I start. I used to want new clothes or just to watch the latest movie but I am not a little kid no more and nothings the same I want graduating from school because it is the only way to do anything and I want to help my younger brothers because no one had helped me. My people are not seen as great people as they once were but now I can go to school and come back and do greater things so others can do the same. The best part is that if this dream is reached it would show me nothing is impossible and you are never too old to dream or accomplish anything. Everyone has their own ideal image of a dream or the American dream but to earn it a lot of work is required. All F. Scott Fitzgerald had wanted was not to be a failure like his father and become greater and he finally had gotten what he wanted the love of his life it did not end well because he had achieved his goal but did not know what to do after once achieved. Which after make a new goal that means the future will be hazy and unknown but as long as people keep working toward their dream they will achieve it
