Scott Fitzgerald is set in the 1920s in a fictional town called West Egg which is right off of Long Island Sound, New York. Daisy is married to a man named Tom who is having an affair with a woman named Myrtle who lives in New York, New York. Affairs between Tom and Myrtle and the lies Gatsby had told Daisy before he went off to war in 1917. Gatsby was not a wealthy man when he first met Daisy however he instantly fell in love her with and wanted to convince her he was good enough for her, so he lied about his life and thought he would eventually make that lie become the truth. Another conflict in the story that does not play as big as a roll of the lies Gatsby told Daisy is when Daisy describes life as boring. She believes in her era, people do not value intelligence in woman. Daisy herself does not says this word for word, however, she does say about her own daughter, “ I hope she’ll be a fool- that is the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool”(21). As you can tell Daisy does not like the fact that people do not value intelligence in woman, however she has no logical reasoning on why she does not try to do something about it. As mentioned earlier Tom was having an affair with a woman named Myrtle who lived in the city. When Tom discovered Daisy was starting to see Gatsby again, he got very jealous and over-protective. When Daisy tried talking to Tom about how his relationship with Myrtle and Daisy’s relationship with Gatsby were no different from each other, Tom immediately disagreed and told Daisy how there is a ginormous difference between his relationship with Myrtle and her relationship with Gatsby. Those are just some of the many conflicts in the book. However the overall main conflict in The Great Gatsby has to do with the lie Gatsby told Daisy. Gatsby tried to give himself an education and wealth so the lie he told Daisy when they first met about him being a very wealthy man would be true when he would go and find Daisy again. Eventually Gatsby got to the point where he was willing to do anything to win back the beautiful Daisy Buchanan,

After asking Daisy to tell Tom herself, she responded, “Even alone I can’t say I never loved Tom… It wouldn’t be true.” Tom agreed with her, but then she retorted “as if it mattered to you,” (Fitzgerald 140). Daisy fell in love with Tom after Gatsby left for war and never returned, and for Daisy it would be difficult to refrain from loving a man who provides her every need and showers her with luxurious items.…

Daisy’s nonexistent role as a mother and her nonchalant affection when she kisses and compliments Gatsby implies she is morally empty as she plays with Gatsby’s feelings, despite her commitment to Tom and plays around her motherly responsibilities; Daisy admits she never “…[intends] doing anything at all” with Gatsby and would ever leave Tom for him (141). The scene in which Tom and Gatsby argues over Daisy’s love shows the dominance of men when Tom says, “[Daisy] is not leaving me!” after which Daisy drives Gatsby’s car and accidently kills Myrtle (142). Daisy’s inability to expose that she murders Myrtle leaves Gatsby to face her consequences; this shows her lack of morality leads her to selfishly take advantage of Gatsby’s unrequited love to avoid the reality of her mistakes and responsibilities (154). Moreover, Daisy’s lack of morality and selfishness is shown in her affair and Pammy’s unfortunate upbringing; she enjoys being wooed by Gatsby’s wealth because it builds her self-esteem and it leads him into a false hope for their old love, thus she gets away from her murder, resulting in Gatsby’s unjustified death In The Great Gatsby it shows the birth of selfishness from the lack of morality.…

My first favorite text of literary would gladly have to be not a book, but a series and that’s the Harry Potter series. I love the books that are written by J.K. Rowling, I find the books to be very fascinating to read because you are allowed to escape the aspect of reality and to be a part of the world of Hogwarts. Well other than the fact that it’s science-fiction, it also has real life places involved in the series as well. Just like the use of London, it’s used as the home of Harry Potter and one of his really good friends, Hermione Granger, the two of them are indeed from London, which is an actual place in England which is also the general idea of where the series takes place in. I really like the series because it has a lot of different aspects that are involved in the series like family, blood status, all of that sorta plays a role in the series because in real life it happens as well like in royal families.…
