Grease Musical Analysis

Grease musical was written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey based on students in Rydell high with fun-loving and different personalities. Mainly the play focuses on Sandy, Danny and Danny’s gang as they make their way through senior year of high school. As the show progressed, Sandy is introduced to the show as a new girl in the high school and over the summer Sandy and Danny start having an emotional involvement. While Sandy shares her new school friends about the story of emotional attachment with Danny, they try to bring up the sexual aspect of their relationship. The musical describes from beginning to the end the view of the love, friendship, gang activities and conflicts in public of teenagers who lived in 1950’s. In the end, Dany and Sandy overcome their barriers and they end up as a couple who still care for each other. Overall, the acting of the performers was outstanding and they brought the natural feelings to the show. The play was very entertaining and the few elements that could deliver useful message to the social about teenage pregnancy and drinking. The playwright and director had done outstanding work to the play and it was so obvious that there was lot of effort they put towards the acting and the direction. This play had realistic elements and it associated with actual incidents we could see in day to day life such as gang violence, drinking and teen pregnancy. The music was unbelievable and it got the complete attention from the audience and kept the audience very entertaining throughout the show. The type of the stage was the proscenium type and the stage type and the seating helped the audience to enjoy the show without any distraction. The show had physical comedic elements and verbal.
