To estimate the population size of the Gray Fox, we are going to set up live traps during the winter months between January- February. This will be the best time of the year to trap the fox because during the winter months they are heavily out hunting to keep up there fat content in there body’s to stay warm. We will be trapping the fox’s at night since they are most active during the evening hours. Live traps will be used to trap the foxes, we will put out dead bait for the fox’s to smell during the night while hunting. After smelling the bait we hope that the fox’s will enter the live traps and the trap door will slide down behind them and the fox is caught.
