“But, I can’t leave you, Jerem—”
What a fake movie, I thought, as I turned my laptop off. Zombies, really? I rubbed my eyes, feeling tired. I sleepily headed towards my bedroom door, which was beside the house door. The man let out another shriek as the crunches of my footsteps got closer, and I gulped down the lump that was forming in my throat. I was about to ask him whether he was all right when he turned around. Deep gashes marked his face and fresh blood was splattered across it. His black, lifeless eyes were sucking me into the deepest holes on Earth. He had on a creepy smile—a Cheshire cat smile, just like the one in the movie that I had been watching. She walked down the cold, dark corridor as she felt the soft and quiet wind run her by causing her to experience an ice-cold chill that ran up her spine. It was merely past six in the afternoon, yet the eerie atmosphere made it appear as if she were standing in the middle of a cemetery at the darkest hour of the night. The hot, moisty air made her clothes and hair cling to her skin. Her hands began to shake and sweat trickled down her palms. She swore she heard someone’s voice whisper her name, but perhaps it was simply the wind.…

What I believed to be the cold dead hands of the grim reaper plucked me off the ground and dragged me up the hill. A light much brighter than a million suns filled my eyes, and I heard someone with a formal voice call my name. To keep the light out of my eyes I kept them close passing back out and waking up when the carriage I was in ran over a rock in the middle of the dirt road. Samuel and Julia were siting across from me or at least I thought I saw them until Julia blew a cloud of green specks that sparkled like stairs into my face. The specks traveled up my nose and down my throat causing me to fall back to sleep.…

It was often hard to find our way, only being able to use out other senses. I followed blindly but as I would hear someone's footsteps approaching, I would feel their rough fingers at the back of my neck, I would tense up and clench my teeth together. Often, they would take my arm and try to pull me away from the rope and from Sarah, I would scream till they let me go, chuckling as they went. I could feel them all around me, raspy breath breathing on my neck, or touching my arms or hair. I knew they were there but couldn't see the threat, that was the most terrifying…

I slowly searched the attic and found no trace of the calculator, as I made my way back to the stairs that lead to the attic I lost balance and stepped on a old floor board, it called me out, letting out a loud groan that revealed me to anything that was hiding in the darkness. I froze in my tracks, hoping that none of the silent shadows were hiding in the darkness of the attic. Almost in an instant, a silent shadow emerged from seemingly out of thin air, it let out the most terrifying sound that I would not have guessed they were capable of creating, it began laughing like a small girl would, starting out with small giggles then slowly changing to loud shrieks of high pitched laughter while taking slow, long, steps towards me. I felt goosebumps form on my arms a shiver ran down my back. I sprinted down the stairs and…

Therefore I gradually slow down as I am trying to grasp onto the limited amount of oxygen in the air to restore my sore body. So I slowly stroll across the never-ending corner, until I stand ten metres away from my home. Shockingly my eyes focus on the old, wooden door, which is now resting on one of its rusty hinges, but also it widely open. New ideas begin to form in my crazy head – did my family leave me. I walk closer to the entrance when a strong, putrid odour flows through the musty air, in between the gap of the old oak door.…
