Granite And Laundry Woundry Chute Event

Improved Essays
For this activity, I chose the granite and laundry chute event. I chose this event because this is a very memorable memory for me. My sister and I were 10 years old. I, personally can remember things when the event is linked to a holiday or special occasion. I remember, it was the day of a halloween party, and my sister had her friend Parker over. We ate lunch, then we decided to play with a basket on a weaved rope in the laundry chute. As we all knew would eventually happen, we got a bright yellow balloon stuck between the 1st and 2nd floor. So we got a piece of granite to put in the basket to make it heavier. Parker and my sister’s job for getting the balloon out was stay on the second floor, and try to get the balloon out. My job was being at the bottom and watch the progress. I was waiting at the bottom, watching the progress when I heard a “pop,” and a “oh no.” Then I was crying. My mother came running, she was hugging me and comforting me like most moms would do. Then she exclaimed that I had blood running down my face, and she freaked out. My dad is a doctor, so he looked at the cut and said, “½ inch down, and you would be half blind.” While he was fixing me up, my sister, Rachel, and Parker locked themselves in the dog kennel like guilty dogs. They stared at me as my dad …show more content…
I chose her because she was there when it happened, before it happened, and after it happened. These are some reasons Rachel is a reliable source. The only other option is Parker, but he wasn’t available, so Rachel is the most reliable of witnesses. As for my memories of the event, The memory has faded so I got my sister’s opinion. With her opinion, it brings back bits and pieces of my memories, like what we were doing right before the event. Many memorable events fade because new memorable events replace the older ones. They are still there, but they are more distant to

On October 15th, 2015 Caitlin, Christy and I visited the Long Island Children Museum to learn more about fun activities to do with children for a science lesson. When we first got there and looked around the first floor we all looked at each other because we didn’t think we would find anything here that had to do with science. After walking around the first floor for a little bit, we realized there were two sections here that had to deal with science. The first section we realized was called Bubbles and we didn’t go in it right away because there were so many little children in there and we didn’t want to bother them. So, then we went to the second section on the first floor which was called the Tool Box.…

It was a chilly February day and a bunch of boys and I were discussing playing a game of road hockey after school. We were all sitting around in our 6th-grade science class talking about who should we invite to this big extravagant hockey game. We talked about all the details; such as when the game is, who’s invited and where would we be playing. We all decided on a 3:30 at Davids house and that we would have 9 of us play. By now we were all excited about playing the game and we all just had to survive the school day.…

I decided to write this story after my sister Rachel, who was sixteen years my senior, passed away. The Second World War was the reason for this difference in age: she was twelve years old when the War started, spending teenage years struggling for survival during evacuation, post War hunger, disease, long lines for rations of flour and sugar. I, (most likely an accident), was born after the War; in America I am a part of the baby boomers generation. Regrettably, nobody in our family talked about horrors of War, weeks in the cold trains while traveling to the little town in the Northern Caucasian Mountain, or the life during several years away from home while sharing a room with the strangers.…

Our group chose this project because we wanted to come up with a way to show respect. The class chose 2 different things to do one of them was go play games with the kids at Woodside or go to a nursing home. I chose to go to a nursing home and play some games with the elderly. This project is important to me because I feel whoever you are or whether or not you’re living just on your own in your old age or you’re in a retirement home you still need something happy in your life. I’m sure it gets pretty boring being in the same place all the time so I would think it's probably really uplifting when kids come in to see you and play games with you.…
