Before I decided to take this course, I had my own perception of diversity. I always thought that diversity refers to the differences in cultures, traditions and languages within a multicultural society. The book refers to diversity as “all the ways in which people are different” (Bucher, 2015, p. 2). 208). Before designing a training program, I would assess the needs of my organization and its workforce. Without understanding the strengths and weaknesses of my workforce and developing a training program to specifically address these needs, the training will be ineffective.
