For this book e-share, I chose the book “Possum Magic” by Mem Fox, illustrated by Julie Vivas. This book is about Grandma Poss and Hush, two possums from Australia. Grandma Poss turns Hush invisible to keep her safe from all the dangerous creatures. After having a lot of fun, Hush decides she wants to be visible again, but Grandma Poss could not figure out how to do it. Grandma Poss and Hush travel all across Australia, eating the local cuisine, to make Hush visible again. At the end of the story, Hush becomes visible again, and they recreate this adventure every year, to make sure it stays that way.

Go Dogs Go, not only is memorized into my brain, but is sitting on my bookshelf with tape holding the cover on, and the color of the illustrations fading every day, no longer the color they were. On page 5, I can still notice the cheesy, Cheetos fingerprint, even though my mother always told me to wash my hands after I finished eating, and before reading. Every time I listened to the book or as I mumbled, and stuttered, trying each word until I was old enough to fluently read this child’s book. Journeys flooding into my imagination as each word was spoken, or as each dog crossed the page.…

And he—I saw it in a glance—was a gentleman, the kind of man I was used to.…

Experiences I had working as an apprentice to my brother, James, and my subsequent running away resulted in my finding independence and establishing myself as a cool bean. When I was twelve, I was apprenticed to my brother, James, who was a printer; he started publishing The New England Courant when I was fifteen. Though I wanted to write for the paper, my brother rejected anything I submitted under my own name. Deciding that using a pen name would be the best way to get my writing in the paper, I carefully constructed the persona of Mrs. Silence Dogood, a middle-aged widow who made fun of life as she lived it, when I was sixteen. I scrawled a letter onto parchment and signed it with her name, later slipping it under the door of my brother’s office in…
