Growing up as a kid my grandma Betty let me help her in the kitchen when she was cooking. I helped her pour in the liquid ingredients and stir every ingredient together. Grandma Betty never used exact measurements. She used a coffee cup to measure instead or a lined measuring cup and eating spoons instead of measuring spoons (teaspoons and tablespoons). She believes food should taste a little different every time you eat it; life needs a different flavor every time. I remember her getting a new set of measuring cups and spoons one year for christmas; they were not opened for at least fifteen months. She didn’t want to be exact every time.
