In 2008 a study about the effects of playing “Grand Theft Auto” on children reported that 60% of middle school boys that played at least one Mature-rated video game hit or beat up someone(ProCon.org). Violent video games have negative effects on children and make them behave aggressively and violently towards each other. The study from the University of Florida concluded that playing violent video games lead teenagers to commit crimes and engage in bad behavior. The video game Grand Theft Auto teaches teenagers to act out their aggression through violence. Therefore, parents should limit their children’s exposure to violent video games and the media that supports them.
