How the Grand Canyon Came to Be In the middle of the desert lived a very curious wolf named Tico. Tico had a very good friend named Sandy. Tico and Sandy did everything together. There favorite thing to do was find bones, then hide them deep in the ground. Tico and Sandy were known to be good at finding rare and big bones. Sandy and Tico would often switch task of who was to find the bone and who was to clean the bone. When it was time to hide the bone they would agree on a hiding place, then one would be a lookout to make sure no other animals in the kingdom would know where they hid the bones and claim them as their own. They went to the nearest river to replenish themselves and by the time the reached the town they already were hunted down by some of Jaks wolves. Once they were captured they, were forced to give the location of the their bone collection. When the news got out of the location of the biggest bone collection got out almost every animal in the kingdom went looking for the collection. Jak made Tico and Sandy stay behind and tell him exactly where the stash was. Once Jak got to the stash he ordered all of his workers to dig. The wolves dug nonstop for six and a half months with no sign of progress or getting any closer to the bones. Jak had a good idea, but knew it might risk killing some of his group so he ordered Tico and Sandy to do the dirty work. Jaks master plan was to go by the nearest river and dig until the water would overflow onto the dig site making it easier to dig. Tico and Sandy had to follow orders or they would risk being killed. Tico and Sandy were very smart and knew exactly what would happen as soon as they let the water into the dig site, but they made a plan. As soon as the water started to overflow onto the dig site Tico and Sandy immediately got to higher ground and they waited for the water to scare the other animals away so they can re hide their stash of bones. The other wolves started to clear out instantly, but Jak caught on to Tico’s plan and was determined and stayed behind to follow Tico and Sandy down the cave. Once the area was clear Tico and Sandy went to the bottom of the cave to collect the bones. Jak was following right behind them silently and was planning an attack. Once Tico grabbed all the bones and Sandy was trying to find an escape plan Jak and five other wolves all surrounded Tico and Sandy. They force them to hand over the bones and were about to kill them, but Tico decided to howl so loud that
