It all began with Taki 183 he is known as the “Father of Graffiti” because he started Competitive Tagging; Writers would tag their name all around New York City to see whose name would be seen the most. Then you get Blade who’s credited as being the “King of Graffiti” since, he has over 5,000 train pieces. He also used his knowledge in geometry to create new styles such as overlapping 3D and Blockbuster and themes that play with your perception. Raping rose to awareness in 79 because of Sugar Hill Gang’s Rapper’s Delight, but what does rap mean some see it as the problems of the world today but really it’s an spoken expression of self they channel themselves through their music they rap what is real try to stay away from defining rap because it doesn't need to be defined it’s what you want it to be, there are a lot of influential rappers such as DJ Afrika Bambaataa, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Nas, J.cole, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator and Joey Bada$$. Lastly you have breaking/dancing there are a lots of different dances and a lot of them have different meanings but again it’s an physical expression self same as Rap same as Graffiti.
