Prompt : Anticipate the final war with the buggers. What skills (at least two) will Ender bring that will separate him from the rest? Towards the victory When the final war with the buggers come, Ender will be direct with others by having two major skills; the ability to face hardships and the ability to lead people. The isolation, which was Graff’s strategy, made him struggle in the start of his journey, but also made him a better soldier. Since he grasps the situation so quickly and has leadership, Ender will be the most prominent of the people in that final battle. By having extra practices with Alai and Shen, he learned so many things that others have never seen nor experienced. However, it was a challenge for Ender since he needed more practice and nobody taught him how to do things. He even challenged the Launchies that he was practicing with saying, “If you are farting around, you’re out. I don’t want any time to waste” (Card 86). His challenge did not only happen in that practice, but also in the computer game. In order to complete the Giant's game, Ender tried and tried continuously until he won. Despite all of this, all these things started from Ender’s isolation. …show more content…
Ender is in the middle of becoming a commander because he is really outstanding, but also because he has the leadership. Ender knows how to deal with people who are totally inexperienced and makes them follow him. Also in the battle, he is able to catch up the whole situation so quickly and this has resulted in victory. Even when he isn’t supposed to practice with the Launchies, he makes them have the ability to control themselves saying “Listen to them…but we don’t get mad” (Card 113). Leadership is really important because this is the key point that separates him from the rest. People will listen and follow the person who has the leadership in the

Andrew “Ender” Wiggins was chosen at the six years old to go to Battle School, a school where children were taught small units tactics and leadership to learn to one day become leaders in the military. Over the course of the four years that Ender was at Battle School, he was molded by his instructors and peers to be the best leader that Earth had ever known. Ender appears to have a situational leadership style. The Center for Association Leadership describes situational leading as “Links behavior with group’s readiness” and “Includes being directing and supportive, while empowering and coaching”. Situational leaders are able to change their plans based on the situation at hand.…

During battle camp the teachers purposely push Ender to his limits to test him as a commander. “So I hope Ender Wiggin truly is the one, because you’ll have degraded the effectiveness of our training method for a long time to come” (98). The head of the school changes the rule of the game just to make it harder on Ender to test his ability as a commander and every battle Ender wins. In conclusion, Ender is the smartest and the best commander in the whole camp and has proven himself to be the right person to be the commander of the whole…

In both the book and film adaptation, Ender decided to repetitively hit his bullies to win all future battles, a decision that proved Ender’s ability to command to Colonel Graff. After both struggles with his bullies, Ender questioned his humanity, not wanting to grow callous like his older brother. Regardless of the several similarities between the plots of the book and the film, the movie still failed to capture its characters full…

    Essay On Ender's Game

Ender’s Game so far is more diverse and different than any other book I’ve read, which is a very good thing and one of the many reasons why I am enjoying this novel so far. The book is set in a school in space made for kids that have the potential to become great commanders and soldiers, anybody sent there will stay there until they finish their training which may be until they’re eighteen or until they iced/booted off. This give me the sense of urgency, like they don’t have much time to waste on those who aren’t fit for being a commander but those who are fit will become good tacticians. I’ve always liked setting placed on different planets or in space, so the fact that is set in space did help immerse me a lot which does affect how I saw…

Throughout his Battle school career, Ender Wiggin has proven that he is a bright and capable student, and so I have thusly made a conclusion. Ender should be a commander because he demonstrates many qualities that are essential for a strong leader including patience, problem solving, creativity, and maintaining a balance between humility and pride. The first leadership trait Ender demonstrates is patience. We learned this whenEnder was the commander of dragon army because “he stayed to help some of the slower ones improve on technique” (Card 164). Ender demonstrates patience with less skillful soldiers instead of putting them to the side like Bonzo did with him.…

The novel revolves arounds the idea that the “end justifies the means” it's horrible that they are manipulating children to killers but on the other hand humanity is at stake. Battle School breaks down the children to mind, body and morality to become an effective soldier, Ender comes to understand and even accept that he is a tool. This novel teaches many lessons like leaders should be compassion. Ender learns the most from those who most oppose of him. Ender plays the battle games so well because he understands the enemy because of this Colonel Graff adopts the policy of isolation around Ender to make the other children around Ender enemies.…

Enders leadership growth throughout the novel was one of triumph and evolution. Not many people wanted to follow him or even hear what he had to say because they viewed him as powerless, and not capable of instructing soldiers. Only a few people saw what was truly inside him such as Colonel Graff and Mazer Rackham. Colonel Graff as a recruiter saw the possibilities and potential in Ender which made it easy for him to choose him. Mazer had experienced the torment of war and knew what it took to lead and the heart that came with it.…

If Ender’s people could not trust his judgment then he would not be able to lead them to victory. The quality he learned early on at Battle School helped him to succeed. He made it a point to know absolutely everything about those that were placed under his command, “Dink, who deftly carried out instructions but was slow to improvise; Bean, who couldn’t control large groups of ships effectively but could use a few like a scalpel, reacting beautifully to anything the computer threw at him; Alai, who was almost as good a strategist as Ender and could be entrusted to do well with half a fleet and only vague instruction … The better Ender knew them, the faster he could deploy them, the better he could use them” (page 274).…

    51. Enders leadership style is that he is hard or brutal when working with his group but when individually he is passionate and patient. Textual evidence that shows this is “He staged mock wars after the first week, savage affairs in the practice room that left everybody exhausted,” (Scott, card175). 52. Thanks to the book Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, I can now say I have been blessed to have read the magic that is Orson Scott Card’s writing. As I continued to read my fiction based independent study unit, the book has only become more enveloping due to the flourishing relationship between the reader and the characters, along with the expansion in the books world since the last section. It has gotten to the point where it seems as though every time I flip a page in this section of the book, there is another obstacle attempting to interfere with Ender’s progress. Interferences such as; the letter from his sister (Card 186) and the giants game (Card 177) have made me come to the conclusion that the conflict inside of these obstructions may just be the leading theme throughout the novel as well as it being the driving force. The novel…

Ender's Game exercised many different aspects of a child's life. Orson Scott Card does a phenomenal way of showing how Colonel Graff exploited his power in Ender's Game because he sees a lack of maturity in the children, and because of his mindset, he left a negative impact on the children's lives. Taking the youth and brainwashing them to be soldiers was a horrible act that they could get away with. The International Fleet had not been scrupulous when it came to the course materials.…

I’m the best soldier they ever had.” Some may look at this comment as being good because Ender is being confident about his skill and ability in battle. I look at this comment as taking heavy influence from his teachers Mazer Rackham and Graff, whose personalities I personally would not like to take too much influence from because of their brutal, close minded way of thinking. In conclusion, Ender shows that his environment has affected his personality and caused him to become more violent. Ender is not the only character that shows sympathy and is affected by their environment, there are a…
