Graduation Speech: Welcome To Base-Koetbol Island

Improved Essays
Welcome to Base-ketbol Island. We here are Astros and Rockets fans. We like to hang out, have fun, and watch sports. The reason we are a mix of sports is because our ruler, Lil’ Lily, didn't know if she liked baseball or basketball more, so she just used them both. We have had no wars or things like that in the past because why would we? We are a very independant country, and we do stuff our own way. Texans fans are here anytime. It's not that we don't love football (because we 100% do) it's just that we like baseball and basketball more. We are definitely not over populated, I mean we only have 4,124 humans living here. The people here are great, I mean we get a little too competitive sometimes, but it's all in the sports of well...sports.

Every person in the stadium stands, places their hand over their hearts and watches in awe as Carrie Underwood sings. Her blonde hair glimmers, her tan skin glows, and her teeth shine in the spot light. Her outfit is perfectly made, being the envy of every girl in the stadium. You can hear her voice full of pride as she finishes with, “O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave”, holding the last note as long as possible. In celebration you see two bulky men in Patriot jerseys clink beer cans, already drunk.…

Good morning Alice, Thank you for the update. I was informed that Dana Bailey had a great interview and there is a possibility that he will get a job offer for Toni Washington’s old position at the VA Bay Pines working directly for Shawn. I would not like to lose Dana, however, if that happened that would be a third DVOP opening taken from us. First one was Hunter’s,, Bobby is retiring at the end of this month and Dana’s would be third one.…

The sport in its entirety is what I came to love. So, I’m still following a soccer-centric path as much as possible. Along the way, I guess my passion wasn’t seen by only me, later giving me the opportunity to become my school’s varsity team’s videographer, something I’ll never be able to fully express my gratitude for. It’s gotten to the point where bringing up the sport to friends is just verbal diarrhea for them. Yet, they’ve never gotten fed up, and that’s just it.…

Greetings, Class of 2023. Today, we get to celebrate the culmination of our thirteen years of hard work in school with graduation, and I have been asked to deliver this year’s commencement speech. I would like to thank all of the people that have brought us here: family members, teachers, principals, and people who would go out of their way to encourage us to keep trying hard even in the midst of failure. Without you, we would not be standing on this stage today. I would like to start by defining the word “commencement.”…
