Welcome to our Shabbat morning service and to my Bar Mitzvah!
I would like to thank everyone for attending my Bar Mitzvah, especially my family who came here from all over, including Hawaii and the East coast. Becoming a Bar Mitzvah only happens once in a lifetime and I’m glad you (point at a person), and you (point at a person), and all of you (point all around) could be here to celebrate with me!

My Torah portion is called Ki Tavo and comes from the book of Deuteronomy. It is from chapter 26 verse 1 through chapter 29 verse 6. Ki Tavo means when you come, and the portion starts with the Jews entering the land of our heritage, Israel.

My Torah portion begins with the Jews being commanded to give their first fruits. They are also told to

We all have certain rules that we must follow. From how we are supposed to act toward others, to how to behave at school and work. I know that I’ve gotten consequences during my life from my mom and dad and I have learned and became a better person from them. Another important thing my Torah portion talks about is the covenant the Jews made with god. It is relevant because a covenant is a promise, and in Ki Tavo Moses is making sure everyone knows that they made a promise that set out rules that they have to follow. I think from that we can learn that promises aren't something to joke about and that they are something that you should follow just like a rule.

My grandfather was a man of Torah. He was the Temple president at his temple out in New Jersey many years ago, and this tallit is from my grandfather, who I know would have loved to be here for this special day. I hope to follow in his footsteps and become an active member of my temple and become the best Jew I can be. I would like to thank my Grandma for passing on this piece of family history to me, I will treat it

My brother also deserves my love, admiration, appreciation, and overall gratitude for being the best brother ever. Last but not least, I would like to thank my parents, for being so influential in my life from the moment I was born. I can’t imagine a day has gone by without my parents making sure I was having an amazing day. I would also like to thank them for pushing me to study every single day, so I could become as good as possible. The endless love my whole family has shown has made this whole experience so very

To me this shows God separating his people at that moment from the people of the world but also letting them know that even though I do not want you following the ways of the land , he also expected you to obtain and respect laws of the world that did not conflict with his and to still have personal relationships and worship him. The covenant with israel related to the christian worldview because as christians we like israel sometimes complain and whine when we dont know Gods plans for us but like the israelites we soon see they he has brought us out of the wilderness and into the promised…

Wow I remember this day like it's was just yesterday. I was so scared and nervous that I was going to mess up on the big day, my Bar Mitzvah was on a Saturday morning all eyes on me as I did all of my prayers. I could remember the days before that my parents and religious leaders would always say practice over and over again I kept hearing it in my brain that day. I knew that I could not prove them wrong and do my best I can. I remember my dad always say “jake let me hear you practice before you go outside”…

Being a ‘good Jew’ is vitally important to those who follow the Jewish faith; yet, the definition of such a view is very personal. Even still, there is a general sharing of beliefs that focus on the simple platitude of doing the right thing and giving of yourself by caring for the well-being of those in your local and global community (Semans & Fish, 2000). Time Historical evolution of the Jewish faith is grounded in their ancestors; an obligation to the promotion of their legacy in future generations is integral to the continuity of the faith. Despite adversity, Jews have thrived while facing oppression.…

Moving on the the spread of these religions and the experience of early believers. For Judaism, the early followers were people that opposed the belief in multiply gods, such as the Romans believed in, and set their mind to a singular, all Devine God. The spread of Judaism started with Abraham controlling a nomadic tribe journey to canaan, the promise land. One of the sons of Jacob, the grandson of Abraham, lead the tribe into Egypt, which ended up enslaving the tribe. Freed by Moses, the tribe made their way to Egypt.…

This week’s Torah portion is the first torah portion in the whole torah. It’s very exciting. God take 6 days to create the universe, night and day, earth and all its inhabitants, and man and woman. These miracles of creation begin the Torah with a sense of optimism and curiosity.…
