Student Teaching Essay
Dr. Seuss famously said, “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” That quote has stuck with me since I was a senior in high school. My favorite teacher encouraged me to push myself further in my education and professional career. Now, through the long temperament boulevard of hard work, I can see the finish line in arm’s reach. I expect to experience at numerous of things during student teaching like preparation, classroom management, develop communication skills with students, staff administration, and parents. During this period, I will learn to engage success, reflect learning, collaborate, dedicate myself, and be unique. First, I know from first-hand how hard it is to prepare yourself for the classroom. I sat in meetings about lesson, unit, team and professional planning for various units in mathematics. By definition, preparation is a plan of action for something that will take place. From what I have experience, you cannot plan for everything. However, having a good plan can set yourself up for success. I know I am a highly motivated learner in every aspect of preparing for my classroom because I am always asking my mentor how to improve myself. I found that engaging students and colleagues can provide a good learning community and excellent team building skills because students and teachers look up to you for inspiration.
