This requirement is favorable because it will help prepare me for the quality level required by the Doctorate’s Program I plan to attend after Spelman. In addition, in any field you must be able to carry out basic abilities other than your specific career. For instance, my intended career right now is to become a physical therapist. As a first year student and first generation the transition from high school to college has been a challenge, therefore, I have not been taking advantage of all the great opportunities around me to become involved in the school’s community. One club I am currently in is 1st GEN. This club is specifically for first generation college students; it is enlightening to see people struggling with the same aspects of college as you are. From this club I have been able to bond with other students in my class, as well as, with upper classman. As I maneuver through college my first year and once I feel comfortable, I plan to become part of many clubs. I enjoy contributing to my school community as a figure who helps to improve their experiences at college. As well as, developing a positive and unifying school spirit. One of the clubs I am hoping to become a part of is PULSE, I love their message and the outcome of all their work. The purpose of me joining several clubs is not only to give, but also to gain connections with alumni, graduating students, and companies or organization we might work with through the club.
