With 2016 have being an election year, politics are everywhere. People wear shirts, have signs outside of their homes, and often times discuss or argue about these with others. Personally, as an 18 year old this was my first year voting. I was excited and overwhelmed with such a decision. However, growing up I have always been raised to have particular beliefs and I have always stood by those beliefs. My choice was very clear from the beginning of it all. I was with her. I grew up in a very small town with a population of 1,300. Everyone from this town, except for my family and maybe a few others made it very clear how conservative their beliefs were. My three best friends from this town, two who are attached to the military and one whose …show more content…
However, when this man became a possibility for president of the United States, many spoke out. They told their story. Trumps responses were demeaning to these women. Away from these events, he has put down women by stating that breastfeeding is “disgusting”. He has made insulting comments about women 's appearances with no remorse. His remarks about the LGBTQ commnity are completely against them having any of the rights that they have fought for for far too long to lose them after just being handed them. The stances he has places on people of color follow these in the same way. Basically if you are not a white educated male, Trump has an issue with it and has not been afraid to tell anyone how her feels. Personally, I still cannot understand how 42% of women voted for Trump (Tyson), despite knowing his sexist approach towards women, or that 8% of African- Americans still chose to vote for Donald Trump …show more content…
If anyone brings politics up, I politely decline to carry out the discussion. Personally, I will forever feel that I am correct for believing in equality and love, but I am also aware that people feel differently. As a whole, it seems that everyone who lives their lives more conservatively use religion, primarily christianity, as their reasoning for their beliefs. Although I do admire them for being able to stand so strongly by their beliefs, it is also difficult for me to even think of using my religious beliefs as a way to berate other beings such as women, people of different races, or members of the LGBT community. I have noticed that many of my Facebook friends like to use the reasoning that God wants Trump as our president and that is why he won. However, I still struggle to understand why God would want a man filled with so much hate to lead our

Socially conservative views often characterize the religious right, “a coalition of conservative Protestant Christians” who often “use the language of faith and quasi-religious organizations to affect the political process” The religious right had a profound effect on politics of the 1980s. Thousands were mobilized to vote and their effect was so strong that in a sense the religious right became its own voting bloc. Jimmy Carter was one of the first presidents to feel the influence of the religious right; however, the religious right had a very distinct and lasting effect as a result of Ronald Reagan’s presidency while Bill Clinton often suffered incessant backlash during his presidency.…

Over the years, Trump has developed a record of being sexist towards women. He oppresses women by making vulgar comments and calling them names like “disgusting” and “unattractive.” The reason for Trump’s behavior is uncalled for and is very unethical, but nobody can understand where his hatred and anger towards women originated from. According to the article “Self” by Nina Bahadur, who is also the author of the book “Every Single One”, and a writer and editor based in New York City, she believes that The reason for Trump’s actions is that he has a difficult time handling criticism from women because he doesn’t like being mocked or challenged. Evidence to look back on can consist of an outburst he had in the oval office to a few moments in his presidential campaign, tweets he has tweeted out of anger in the past, recordings of events that happened many years ago clearly showing…

I was born a woman; probably my father wasn’t so happy about my gender. Perhaps he wanted a boy named after him. I can’t remember my first thought as a baby, but I’m sure I wasn’t able to distinguish between males and females, or the fact that the doctor was a male and the nurse was a female. I just knew I wanted to love and be loved regardless of my race, sex, or religion. My friend Melissa was raped, and it was her fault.…

I was raised in a Kennedy Democratic household. Unlike today’s Democrats, President Kennedy wanted less government. During his inaugural address, he stated, “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” My parents believed in President Johnson’s Great Society and fighting poverty for the poor. My parents taught us to be self-reliant, work hard, save, and to remember nothing in life is free.…

No words can fully capture the horror, disgust, and anxiety I feel concerning the results of the election that just took place. I am disappointed in my fellow Americans and feel short-changed by the democracy we live in. Trump is a figure who represents every negative facet of modern America. On countless occasions, he has proven to be racist, sexist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, ableist, and misogynistic. He is reckless and callous with his speech, and his behavior is simply disturbing.…

Trump has showed multiple times that he has bigoted and racist qualities. One example of this is him wanting to build a wall between the United States and Mexico funded by Mexico. It is not just that he is also a sexist, childish, and possibly the worst quality that he has is that he really does not know has the government works. This was made proven by him telling his voters to go out and vote on November 28th. He also must be difficult to work with or why would he have lost so many campaign managers.…

We cannot pretend that the man who has the nuclear codes is not hateful to a large group of people in the United States. We must acknowledge that Mr. Trump does have some form of contempt towards women and on some level, he is a sexist. Many women did vote for him but that does not change the fact that we, as women, cannot be allowed to be treated this way by a man who is supposed to protect all of our rights as equal. Women have been categorized to one box for a long time and it is time to step out and be whatever we want, and the president of the United States should be able to show this kind of respect. “We, the people…” means everyone in the United States.…
