Between all the different organizations we’ve visited we chose a particular organization to receive the grand. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, all of these organizations deserved this grand because of their consideration positivity they are inflicting towards our community.
We visited Gorgas Science Foundation, Tip of Texas Family Outreach, Community Development Corporation and the Brownsville Adult Literacy Center.
As wonderful as these foundations were, a choice

David Wallace Foster’s Kenyon College Commencement Speech is extremely successful for a multitude of reasons. It is not so much inspirational or revolutionary or epic, just simply honest. His speech is blunt about what people will face in their life after education. That adult life is boring, repetitive, trivial, tiring. Yet despite being adult life being unsatisfactory, Wallace always says it will only be those things because of your perspective.…

Throughout reading “Commencement Speech, Kenyon College”, I found this short story very inspiring to read as I found myself doing more research on this essay because I was so interested in it. Reading this once through I got the feeling of more of a pessimistic and lower toned feeling sine suicide is mentioned and reading the bio notes of David Foster Wallace and how he suffered with depression and committing suicide I realized this was more of a final speech of what he wished he could have still in himself. “It’s the matter of my choosing to do the work of show how altering or getting free of my natural, hardwired default-settling” (309) I believe in this statement with my whole heart, to me I believe that I used to get just go through the motions of life and wasn’t really living but recently one of my friends came to me and told me she wanted to kill herself because she didn’t see the point in life and though I don’t know if I ever could get to that point, I told her that every day we would hang out, every day we would make the most of everyday and every day I would remind her why life was so wonderful to live and how lucky we are for this opportunity.…

Memories of other students may be very foggy or have been erased away with time in your state of min. But do you remember someone with the name of Ryan Bartunek? He was quite the troublesome kid in your class! And there was one lesson to be learned from the young fellow; It was to never let a young man step foot near YouTube and put on a show called “Happy Tree Friends” where a blue moose character attempted to free his foot stuck under a thick tree log. Everyone was having a wonderful time laughing at the amount of pain and blood coming out from the young…

We’ll make stops at some of the places on campus that have helped foster minority student life. As I walked into the school of DollyHigh, everyone congratulated me on becoming Valedictorian on the campus. I moved in Dolly about four years ago after my mom and dad got a divorce. Although the divorce done me and my mom bad we both knew we needed to start our own new lives. I remember walking into Dolly high for my freshman year and remembering what it feels like to be known as “The New Kid” or “Fresh Meat”. Greetings, Class of 2023. Today, we get to celebrate the culmination of our thirteen years of hard work in school with graduation, and I have been asked to deliver this year’s commencement speech. I would like to thank all of the people that have brought us here: family members, teachers, principals, and people who would go out of their way to encourage us to keep trying hard even in the midst of failure. Without you, we would not be standing on this stage today. I would like to start by defining the word “commencement.”…
